Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field with at least 18 semester or 27 quarter units in accounting, finance, auditing, or related subjects.
• One year of professional level accounting or auditing experience may substitute for some coursework.
• Knowledge of governmental accounting, budgeting, and related regulatory frameworks.
• Experience with financial reconciliations, internal controls, and grant accounting is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and control fiscal recordkeeping functions and systems in a government accounting environment.
• Prepare, review, and verify diverse accounting, statistical, and narrative reports.
• Assist with budget preparation and internal controls; develop cost and rate models.
• Track and report federal and state grant expenditures; advise on accounting and budgetary issues.
• Lead and train accounting staff; coordinate work with other departments and external fiscal intermediaries.
