Job summary

J&J Snack Foods Corp. is seeking a Senior Accountant to join the Finance team. The role focuses on supporting month-end close, GAAP compliance, and SOX controls, with opportunities to improve accounting processes and drive accurate financial reporting.

Responsibilities include preparing journal entries, reconciliations, SEC reporting support, and collaboration across teams to ensure timely close and audit readiness. A CPA or progress toward CPA and 2–4 years of experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance is required.
• CPA or progress toward CPA preferred.
• Minimum of 2–4 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in a public company or public accounting firm.
• Must have SEC Reporting experience.

Responsibilities

• Support and execute the month-end close process, including journal entries, reconciliations, and fluctuation analysis.
• Prepare, review, and analyze financial reports to ensure GAAP compliance.
• Assist in quarterly Forms 10-K and 10-Q and other SEC filings.
• Coordinate SEC reporting documents for accuracy and regulatory compliance.
• Perform technical accounting research and document conclusions on complex transactions.
• Assist in audit schedules and provide support during audits.
• Conduct detailed general ledger analyses to identify trends and variances; recommend corrective actions.
• Maintain organized financial records and supporting documents.
• Collaborate with team to respond to inquiries regarding general ledger accounts.
• Perform SOX control activities including reconciliations and control documentation.
• Partner with management to identify process improvements and cross-functional initiatives.
