Waukegan Steel is seeking a Senior Accountant to support financial accounting and reporting, located in Waukegan, IL, with a move to Pleasant Prairie, WI later this year. The role focuses on month-end close, consolidated financial statements, and revenue recognition under percentage of completion.

Requires a bachelor’s in accounting/finance, 3+ years of accounting experience, ERP exposure, and strong Excel/communication skills.

Responsabilidades

• Perform month end close activities, including preparation of journal entries and detailed account analyses and reconciliations.
• Prepare and support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting, including consolidated financial statements and support schedules.
• Perform general ledger reconciliations for all balance sheet accounts and investigate and resolve variances in a timely manner.
• Prepare bank reconciliations and intercompany reconciliations.
• Perform work in process analysis and related procedures to ensure revenue recognition under percentage of completion accounting is accurate and compliant.
• Perform routine inventory reconciliations and support periodic physical inventory counts, as applicable.
• Assist with preparation of monthly projections, quarterly forecasts, and the Annual Operating Plan.
• Support accounting and reporting requirements from the parent company, NMLP Corporate.
• Identify and support continuous improvement initiatives related to accounting processes, controls, and reporting efficiency.
• Support account receivables and account payables activities, as applicable to the role.
• Complete other ad hoc accounting and reporting requests as needed.
