Job summary

D.R. Horton, Inc. is seeking a Senior Accountant to join the Accounting Department. The candidate will perform accounting and finance tasks with limited supervision, applying accounting principles to analyze financial information and prepare reports.

Essential duties include monthly close, journal entries, reconciliations, and GAAP applications. A Bachelor's degree in Accounting and 4–6 years of related experience are required, with CPA/CFA preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
• Four to six years of related experience.
• CPA/CFA or candidacy strongly preferred.
• Proficiency with MS Office and email.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of the company's financial statements.
• Analyze and assist in the implementation of new accounting standards.
• Conduct monthly close procedures and ensure deadlines are met.
• Prepare monthly balance sheet account reconciliations.
• Apply GAAP to a variety of business transactions.
• Perform account analysis and reconciliation for significant balance sheet accounts.
• Review and analyze financial statements; prepare journal entries as needed.
• Assist with ad hoc analyses, reports, and projects for division management.
