Job summary

PayPal is seeking an experienced accountant to initiate accounting processes and ensure GAAP-compliant financial statements while supporting local and global regulatory obligations. The role entails posting adjustments, coordinating audits, and driving rigorous internal controls across monthly, quarterly, and annual closes.

You will prepare reconciliations, analyze financial data, and contribute to monthly reports and risk-based reviews.

Qualifications

• 3+ years relevant experience with a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong understanding of Credit products with experience in ABS and Securitization preferred.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or strong accounting background highly preferred.
• Highly proficient in Excel.
• High attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Initiate accounting processes to ensure financial statements meet local GAAP.
• Monitor the accounting closing process and post journal entries for required adjustments in the local ledger.
• Support the organization in meeting local and global regulatory obligations.
• Drive process control rigor to support quarterly certification on financials.
• Implement monthly financial reports and analytics to support structured risk-based monthly financial reviews.
• Implement statutory financial statements and ensure timely completion of statutory audits.
• Facilitate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end accounting close activities.
• Review and prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, roll-forwards, and month-end reporting packages.
