Job summary

CFS in Pittsburgh, PA is seeking a Senior Accountant to join the corporate accounting team in a hybrid role. The position covers accounting, financial reporting, month-end close, technical accounting, and audit-related activities.

Ideal candidates will have strong general ledger and financial reporting experience, with excellent analytical skills and the ability to research and apply accounting guidance to complex transactions. Public accounting experience and a CPA are highly preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance or related field required.
• 3+ years progressive accounting experience; public accounting preferred.
• CPA certification or active pursuit preferred.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting principles.
• Experience with general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and financial statement prep.

Responsibilities

• Support the preparation and review of external financial statements and internal management reports.
• Prepare and analyze financial information to support business decisions.
• Research, analyze, and document technical accounting matters and disclosures.
• Monitor new accounting standards and assess impact on the organization.
• Record journal entries and reconcile general ledger accounts.
• Assist with quarterly and year-end external audit requests and schedules.
• Support quarterly and year-end financial reporting packages.
• Participate in SOX compliance activities and control testing.
• Provide accounting guidance and training to staff accountants.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve accounting issues.
