Erickson Senior Living in Baltimore seeks a Senior Accountant to join the Technical Accounting and Financial Reporting team. You will prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for the company and its affiliates, and support staff development.

You will review deliverables, participate in audits, ensure GAAP compliance, and help implement controls and processes. CPA or CPA candidate preferred; 5+ years of experience and real estate development exposure are desirable.

Qualifications

• Five or more years of experience with a minimum of two years in public accounting as an auditor or consultant providing attest and/or financial reporting services.
• Experience applying US GAAP-based technical accounting standards.
• Knowledge of assessing internal controls over financial reporting is a plus.
• Previous experience with real estate development is preferred.
• Experience with general ledger systems such as Dynamics AX or Workiva is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review monthly financial statements for management and investor audiences.
• Prepare and review quarterly compliance deliverables, including financial statements, supporting schedules, and debt covenant calculations.
• Develop and finalize audited financial statements, supporting the full audit process from draft to issuance.
• Perform variance analyses, risk assessments, and ensure technical accuracy of financial disclosures in accordance with GAAP.
• Manage the annual audit process.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of financial operations processes and internal controls.
• Provide technical accounting research and assess the impact of new accounting pronouncements and/or company transactions.
• Support documentation and evaluation of internal controls related to financial reporting and disclosures.
