Job summary

Northern Manufacturing Co. in Oak Harbor, OH is seeking a Senior Accountant to own the day-to-day accounting cycle, including AP, AR, payroll, GL, reconciliations, and month-end close. This hands-on role interacts with leadership and cross-functional teams.

The position supports financial reporting, tax compliance, and coordination with an outside firm on year-end matters, with a compensation range of $65,000 to $85,000 and a robust benefits package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 2+ years in full-cycle accounting with GL close.
• Experience with AP, AR, payroll a plus.
• Manufacturing/job-shop accounting exposure a plus.
• Strong Excel and ERP systems familiarity.
• Excellent organization and communication; able to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Manage the full accounts payable and accounts receivable cycles, including invoicing, payment processing, progress billing, customer payments, and deposits.
• Process bi-weekly payroll and periodic bonuses, including related payroll accounting and routine tax responsibilities.
• Perform month-end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations, and other closing entries.
• Prepare monthly financial statements for leadership review and banking requirements.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and maintain supporting schedules for revenue, progress billing, customer deposits, and other accounting activity.
• Prepare routine state and local tax filings, track applicable deadlines, and coordinate required payments.
• Support year-end close and coordinate with our outside accounting firm on corporate tax matters, year-end adjustments, fixed assets, and other complex accounting matters.
• Complete required financial and compliance reporting and work with leadership and other departments to gather information needed for accurate and timely accounting.
