Job summary

WM is seeking a Senior Accountant or Junior Controller to lead full cycle accounting and month-end close in a hybrid environment in the United States. The role requires ownership of the general ledger, journal entries, accruals, and financial reporting, with strong internal controls and GAAP compliance.

Ideal candidates bring 5 years of accounting experience, including 3 years in mid-to-senior roles, and the ability to partner with stakeholders while working independently in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
• 5 years of accounting experience, including 3 years in a mid to senior level accounting role
• Experience in a mid-to-large company
• Direct ownership of full cycle accounting and corporate financial reporting
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with high attention to detail

Responsibilities

• Own full cycle accounting including general ledger, journal entries, accruals, and month end close
• Prepare financial statements and perform variance analysis
• Ensure US GAAP compliance and maintain internal controls
• Partner with finance and business stakeholders while operating independently
• Prepare highly complex journal entries monthly and analyze ledger accounts
• Coordinate monthly financial package and assist year-end closings
