Job summary

Brown & Brown is seeking a Senior Accountant to manage monthly journal entries, month-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting in a fast-paced environment. You will ensure compliance with established policies and contribute to ASC 606/ ASC 944 entries while supporting cross-functional teams.

The role requires a Bachelor's in accounting, 3–5 years of GL experience, and strong Excel skills; CPA or insurance knowledge is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field.
• 3–5 years full cycle general ledger accounting experience.
• Proficient knowledge in Microsoft Office (Teams and Word).
• High proficiency in Excel.
• CPA and insurance industry experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Complete monthly journal entries.
• Review and approve journal entries.
• Review and approve cash disbursements.
• Perform full cycle month-end close in Agency and ERP systems.
• Reconcile balance sheet and other accounts monthly.
• Run monthly close reporting.
• Meet strict deadlines.
• Reconcile bank accounts.
• Prepare submission of documents per controls.
• Assist with ASC 606 / ASC 944 entries.
• Analyze results for accuracy of financials.
• Build relationships with office staff to maintain efficient practices.
• Promote teamwork and ongoing professional development.
