Job summary

Kemper CPA Group LLP, a top regional public accounting firm, seeks a Senior Accountant for our Evansville, Indiana office. This advanced non-management role covers general accounting, tax, and auditing duties with client contact as needed.

Qualified candidates have a bachelor’s in accounting and 3–5 years in public accounting (audit and tax). CPA preferred; proficient with Word, Excel, and Outlook. Some overtime during peak seasons is expected.

Qualifications

• Possess a bachelor’s degree in accounting and a minimum of three to five years of public accounting experience in both audit and tax.
• CPA designation is preferred.
• Possess technology skills which contribute to the completion of assignments.
• Display the ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing to clients & staff in a respectful and professional manner.
• Contribute to skill building among interns and newer staff.
• Demonstrate ownership of work assigned and take the initiative to complete the work assigned.
• Work under time constraints.
• Display analytical skills with an orientation to focus on details and accuracy.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Maintain regular and reliable attendance.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage monthly controllership tasks including AP, AR, payroll, bank reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
• Prepare comprehensive financial statements, balance sheets, income/expense reports, cash flow analyses and notes.
• Complete moderately complex tax returns for individuals, partnerships, corporations, trusts, and estates.
• Coordinate and oversee audit engagements and review staff work.
• Respond to client and staff questions clearly and promptly.
• Manage multiple client requests efficiently.
