Job summary

Atrium Staffing is partnering with a manufacturing client to identify a Senior Accountant – Fixed Assets to join the corporate accounting team. The role focuses on Global Fixed Asset & Lease Accounting, including capital investments, depreciation, and related reporting.

You will collaborate with plant operations, engineering, and finance to ensure accurate fixed asset accounting in a fast-paced environment, with emphasis on automation and system improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
• 2–5+ years of accounting experience, with fixed asset focus preferred.
• Strong understanding of US GAAP and general ledger.
• Experience with fixed asset accounting and ASC 842.
• ERP experience (JDE or SAP) is a plus.
• Experience with BlackLine is a plus.
• Proficient Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups).
• Interest in AI tools such as Copilot is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support lease accounting, journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting.

• Assist audits with schedules and documentation.

Job description

Atrium Staffing is partnering with one of our manufacturing clients to identify a Senior Accountant – Fixed Assets to join their corporate accounting team.

This role will primarily support the Global Fixed Asset & Lease Accounting function, with responsibility for fixed asset accounting, financial close, reconciliations, reporting, and analysis. You’ll work closely with plant operations, engineering, finance, and accounting teams to ensure accurate accounting for capital investments and related transactions.

Beyond fixed assets, this is a highly cross-functional opportunity that will provide exposure to general ledger accounting, financial reporting, process improvement, ERP initiatives, automation, and senior leadership.

What You’ll Do

• Manage fixed asset accounting activities including capitalization, transfers, retirements, depreciation, and construction-in-progress (CIP)
• Partner with plant engineering, operations, and finance teams on capital projects and related accounting
• Support lease accounting, journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting
• Prepare and record journal entries and accruals in accordance with US GAAP and company policies
• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close activities
• Perform account reconciliations, investigate variances, and resolve outstanding items
• Analyze financial results and account fluctuations to identify key drivers
• Maintain the accuracy and integrity of fixed asset, lease, and general ledger accounts
• Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules and documentation
• Prepare reporting and analysis related to capital expenditures, fixed assets, and balance sheet accounts
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, strengthen controls, and increase efficiency
• Leverage automation, AI tools, and technology to streamline accounting and reporting
• Support ERP implementations, system enhancements, and process improvement initiatives
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve data quality and reporting accuracy
• Travel up to 10% on an occasional/ad hoc basis

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
• 2–5+ years of relevant accounting experience in public accounting and/or industry
• Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and US GAAP
• fixed asset accounting and ASC 842
• CPA or CPA candidate strongly preferred
• Experience with an ERP system; JDE or SAP experience is a plus
• Experience with BlackLine preferred
• Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables and lookups
• Exposure to or interest in AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot is a plus
