American Airlines is seeking an Accountant/Sr Accountant in Financial Reporting at the DFW Headquarters, Fort Worth, TX. You will handle day-to-day corporate accounting, reconciliations, and monthly close, with exposure to external audits and SEC filings.

You will prepare journal entries, assist with SOX compliance, and contribute to system enhancements while collaborating with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced travel company.

Qualificações

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Economics, or Finance, or MBA or other related discipline.
• Minimum of 2-4 years of combined public accounting experience or experience in large public company corporate accounting department.

Responsabilidades

• Prepare and peer-review journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and complex monthly and ad-hoc reports and supporting schedules; resolve reconciling items.
• Prepare, peer-review, and provide documents for external auditors and the SOX group to ensure timely quarterly reviews and annual audit.
• Review internal controls to ensure SOX compliance.
• Prepare internal/external financial statements and disclosures for SEC filings; document and review support for SEC filings.
• Participate in design, development, testing, implementation and documentation of accounting systems; propose system modifications to improve controls and efficiency.
• Hyperion Financial Management administration tasks including G/L hierarchy maintenance and report generation.
• Assist in researching and implementing technical accounting treatments for non-routine transactions and new pronouncements.
