Job summary

Buckingham Search seeks a Senior Financial Reporting Accountant in Chicago, IL to support SEC reporting, consolidations, and management reporting in a complex public-company environment.

You will prepare consolidated financial statements, assist with quarterly and annual filings, review XBRL tagging, and contribute to process improvements while leveraging Hyperion and strong Excel capabilities.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of accounting and/or public accounting experience.
• SEC reporting knowledge preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required.

Responsibilities

• Support quarterly and annual SEC filings, including 10-Ks, 10-Qs, 8-Ks, and related disclosures
• Prepare consolidated financial statements, cash flow statements, and footnotes in accordance with U.S. GAAP
• Assist with monthly CFO and management reporting packages
• Prepare consolidating and intercompany elimination entries
• Review financial reporting submissions from business units
• Support quarterly earnings releases and related reporting
• Review XBRL tagging and reporting requirements
• Assist with standalone entity financial statements and audit support
• Help improve consolidation and financial reporting processes
• Participate in accounting research and special projects

A large, publicly traded global organization in the consumer services space seeking a Senior Financial Reporting Accountant to join its team.

This is a great opportunity for someone coming from public accounting or a combination of public + industry who wants hands-on exposure to SEC reporting, consolidations, internal management reporting, and technical accounting within a complex public-company environment.

Responsibilities:

• Support quarterly and annual SEC filings, including 10-Ks, 10-Qs, 8-Ks, and related disclosures
• Prepare consolidated financial statements, cash flow statements, and footnotes in accordance with U.S. GAAP
• Assist with monthly CFO and management reporting packages

Qualifications:

• SEC reporting and U.S. GAAP knowledge preferred
• CPA preferred
• Experience with financial reporting systems; Hyperion is a plus
• Strong Excel, analytical, organizational, and communication skills
