Job summary

CFS in Sterling, VA is seeking a Senior Accountant, Financial Analysis & Reporting to enhance financial reporting, analysis, and the general ledger while gaining close exposure to executive finance leadership in a stable, well‑established organization.

This role offers direct interaction with the CFO and senior finance team, involvement in month‑end closes, budgeting support, and cross‑functional projects that sharpen accounting and analytical skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting with a GPA of 3.3 or higher.
• 3–5 years accounting, general ledger, and audit experience.
• 1–2 years of public accounting experience preferred.
• Advanced Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs.
• Great Plains experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support month-end close activities, including account reconciliations and journal entries.
• Prepare bank reconciliations and general ledger account analyses.
• Assist with monthly financial statement preparation and reporting.
• Perform revenue, expense, and financial analysis as needed.
• Support annual budget preparation and year-end audit activities.
• Participate in special projects and provide backup support across the accounting team.
