Job summary

Ascend is seeking a Senior Accountant to own month-end close for an assigned group of Partner Firms, managing the general ledger, balance sheet reconciliations, and variance commentary. The Senior Accountant will guide offshore staff and help integrate newly acquired firms onto Ascend’s accounting standards.

Reporting to an Accounting Manager within the Controller’s organization, this role collaborates across Partner Services to deliver accurate, audit-ready books while supporting continuous

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 3+ years of progressive accounting experience with month-end close ownership.
• Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP; ASC 606/842 exposure preferred.
• Experience with FloQast and a modern ERP; advanced Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Own the month-end close for assigned Partner Firms on an accelerated timeline.
• Maintain the trial balance and responsible balance sheet reconciliations.
• Provide variance commentary and flag unusual items to management.
• Prepare audit PBCs and ensure documentation supports audit readiness.
• Support integration of newly acquired firms and onboarding to Ascend standards.
• Guide offshore accounting staff with clear instructions and timely reviews.
• Collaborate across Ascend Partner Services and drive process improvements.
