The Senior Accountant, External/SEC Reporting position plays a critical role in ensuring the accurate and timely delivery of external financial information for Halliburton. The role involves working closely with the Investor Relations department to support the preparation of earnings releases, corporate presentations, and other materials presented to securities analysts, investors, and industry groups.
Responsibilities and Essential Duties:
- Collaborate with the External Reporting team to ensure completion of tasks and responsibilities.
- Compile and prepare analyses, schedules, and data for the Company’s 10-Q/K filings, utilizing SEC filing software (Workiva), including detailed reviews.
- Prepare the Company’s Earnings Release (8-K) and/or Earnings Call Script quarterly, with supporting workpapers.
- Research, perform, and resolve activities involving complex accounting reports, analyses, and internal controls.
- Communicate with other departments and business units to resolve financial issues.
- Create, update, and review supporting schedules for financial statements and disclosures.
- Prepare disclosure checklists under US GAAP and other standards such as MD&A.
- Participate in completing XBRL for SEC filings using Workiva.
- Assist in reviewing the Company’s Proxy and other public disclosures like press releases and investor presentations.
- Coordinate audit requests with external and internal auditors.
- Participate in routine and non-routine functions as requested, including ad-hoc requests, surveys, process improvements, and projects.
Minimum Qualifications:
- At least three (3) years of experience in accounting-related roles.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, or related field.
- Knowledge of US GAAP or applicable accounting standards.
- CPA license (actively pursuing or parts passed preferred).
Qualifications:
- Degree in accounting, business, or related field with a minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience.
- Experience preparing SEC filings.
- Willingness to work overtime during filing periods.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Adobe Pro.
- Knowledge of US GAAP and SEC reporting standards.
Skills:
- Self-starter with attention to detail.
- Organized, able to manage multiple activities efficiently.
- Strong communication skills for collaboration and reporting.
Preferred but not required:
- Experience with Workiva, XBRL, HFM, SAP, or Essbase.
- Experience in large or global companies, public accounting, or industry roles.
- Active CPA pursuit or parts passed.
