HawkEye 360 is seeking a Senior Accountant to contribute to SEC filings, consolidated financial statements, and technical accounting documentation. The role ensures accuracy and integrity of reporting under U.S. GAAP, SEC regulations, and SOX for HawkEye 360, a newly public company.

Key responsibilities include external reporting, technical accounting, consolidation, and SOX controls. CPA-eligible candidates with 3+ years of experience are preferred.

• Technical Accounting: research technical matters; draft memos; implement new standards and SEC changes.
• Consolidation & Intercompany: prepare consolidation entries and reconciliations.
• Policy & Controls: support SOX compliance; identify process improvements.

Job description

The Senior Accountant contributes to the preparation of SEC filings, consolidated financial statements, and technical accounting documentation. This role ensures the accuracy and integrity of reporting deliverables and supports compliance with U.S. GAAP, SEC regulations, and SOX requirements for HawkEye 360, a newly public company.

Your main responsibilities will be:

• External Financial Reporting:

  • Prepare sections of 10-K, 10-Q, and 8-K filings, including schedules and footnotes.
  • Assist with validating disclosure information and help maintain processes ensuring filings are accurate, complete, and compliant with U.S. GAAP and SEC regulations.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to gather, validate, and integrate information into disclosures.
  • Leverage Workiva and related processes and technologies to ensure reported financial data derives from a single source, and to drive efficiency in the reporting and review processes.
  • Support quarterly reviews and annual audits by preparing documentation and responding to auditor inquiries.

  Technical Accounting:

  • Assist with researching technical accounting matters and drafting accounting memos and supporting documentation.
  • Assist with implementation of new accounting standards and SEC regulatory changes.

  Consolidation & Intercompany:

  • Prepare consolidation entries and reconciliations.

  Policy & Controls:

  • Support SOX compliance requirements related to financial reporting.
  • Identify process improvements to enhance efficiency.

Your skills and qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• CPA or CPA-eligible.
• 3+ years accounting/financial reporting experience.
• Demonstrated knowledge of, and ability to research rules around U.S. GAAP, SEC regulations, and SOX compliance requirements.

Desirable:

• Public accounting experience.
• Experience with financial statement preparation, consolidations, and XBRL tagging preferred.

We offer a compensation package that includes a competitive base salary plus annual performance bonus and benefits. We consider many factors when determining salary offers, such as candidate's work experience, education, training & skills, as well as market and business considerations. We are also open to considering candidates with experience and qualifications at a different level than required in a job posting, which may affect the compensation package offered.

Salary Range

• $120,000 — $150,000 USD
