Ledgent, Inc. represents a well-established distribution company seeking a Senior Accountant to join the accounting team.

This high-visibility role partners with leadership and drives day-to-day accounting in a fast-paced, inventory-driven environment. Responsibilities include month-end close and GL integrity, sales and use tax filings, resale certificates, inventory analysis, audits support, and driving process improvements across AP, AR, and inventory functions.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 4+ years of progressive accounting experience in distribution, wholesale, manufacturing, or inventory-intensive environment.
• Strong understanding of sales and use tax compliance and hands-on experience managing resale certificates.
• Experience with inventory accounting, reconciliations, inventory adjustments, and transaction flow analysis.
• Advanced knowledge of general ledger accounting and month-end close procedures.
• Proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP functionality.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with exceptional attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across departments.

Aufgaben

• Prepare and post month-end journal entries, maintain general ledger accuracy, and perform detailed account reconciliations.
• Assist with the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Manage and coordinate sales and use tax filings across multiple jurisdictions and maintain compliance with applicable regulations.
• Review, track, and maintain customer resale certificates, ensuring proper documentation and audit readiness.
• Analyze inventory transactions, cost movements, and related accounting activity within a distribution environment.
• Research and resolve accounting discrepancies involving inventory, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash transactions.
• Support external audits and assist with the preparation of audit schedules and supporting documentation.
• Participate in process improvement initiatives designed to strengthen internal controls and streamline accounting operations.
• Provide cross-functional support to AP, AR, and inventory accounting teams as needed.
• Assist with special projects, system enhancements, and reporting requests from management.
