The Senior Accountant - Corporate Accounting will report to the Senior Corporate Accounting Manager and will be responsible for general ledger ownership, consolidation, financial reporting, and accounting activities across the company's U.S. corporate legal entities.
The role will have significant involvement in month-end and quarter-end close, corporate debt accounting, US GAAP and IFRS reporting, reconciliations, audit support, and ongoing ERP improvements.
- Manage general ledger accounting, multi-tiered consolidation, and financial reporting for corporate legal entities within the U.S. group.
- Own month-end and quarter-end close activities, including GL integrity, trial balance reconciliation, and related accounting processes.
- Own accounting and reporting activities related to corporate debt facilities, including loan draws, financial closings, and compliance with debt covenants.
- Prepare timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual US GAAP and IFRS financial reporting packages and supplemental information.
- Analyze financial data and report on trends, key performance indicators, actual results versus prior periods, and budget variances.
- Partner with Commercial, Construction, and Operations teams to support reporting requirements and provide relevant financial information.
- Facilitate accounts payable activities, including purchase orders, invoice creation, supplier approvals, documentation, and management approvals.
- Support intercompany accounts receivable processes, including internal invoicing and journal entry preparation.
- Review major contracts and assess their implications for accounting and financial reporting.
- Support accounting research and preparation of technical accounting memos for significant transactions.
- Facilitate external audits, including audit deliverables, financial statement footnotes, quarterly reviews, and tax-related filings.
- Contribute to continued ERP system and accounting process improvements.
- Support additional ad hoc accounting and finance activities as required.
Qualifications
- At least 3-4 years of relevant accounting experience.
- Strong general ledger and financial reporting experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a relevant field.
- CPA or equivalent strongly preferred.
- Experience working within a multinational company preferred.
- Experience with integrated ERP solutions; Oracle Fusion experience preferred.
- Renewable energy industry experience is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work effectively under tight deadlines.
