Chamberlain Advisors is partnering with a nationally recognized design-build architecture firm to identify a Senior Accountant to support core financial operations in a project-based environment. This role will lead month-end close, manage multi-state tax compliance, and ensure ledger integrity across multi-project jobs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 2–5+ years of accounting experience.
• Direct experience with construction accounting and job costing required.
• Strong GAAP knowledge and financial reporting.
• Advanced Excel and Office Suite skills.
• Detail-oriented with ability to manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Lead the month-end close with journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements.
• Prepare monthly reports in collaboration with CFO/Controller.
• Manage multi-state sales and use tax filings and 1099s.
• Maintain general ledger accuracy and recurring job cost entries.
• Oversee HH2 timesheet reporting: setup, admin, and training.
• Post intercompany transactions and reconciliations.
• Support payroll accounting, including bonuses and advances.
• Process daily banking activity and positive pay files.
• Assist budgeting, forecasting, and audits including state taxes.
• Reconcile employee expense reports tied to job costing.
• Provide credit card reconciliation backups and cost reclassifications.
• Assist with licensing and permitting as needed.
• Identify process improvements across accounting workflows.
