Job summary

Segrera Associates seeks an experienced Senior Accountant to join our growing accounting team in Clearwater, FL. The role will drive month-end close, financial reporting, and reconciliations to ensure GAAP compliance and accurate records.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of general accounting experience, strong Excel skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with ERP experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
• 3+ years of general accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and general ledger accounting.
• Hands-on month-end close and financial statement experience.
• Strong reconciliation and analytical skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with ERP/accounting systems.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with and/or lead the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close process.
• Prepare and post journal entries.
• Prepare monthly balance sheet and bank reconciliations.
• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
• Assist with preparation of monthly financial statements and management reports.
• Analyze account activity and research variances.
• Assist with accruals, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, and intercompany transactions.
• Support accounts payable and accounts receivable as needed.
• Assist with annual audits and provide requested schedules and documentation.
• Ensure accounting transactions are recorded accurately and in accordance with GAAP.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and internal controls.
• Partner with other departments to resolve accounting-related questions and discrepancies.
• Assist with special projects and additional accounting responsibilities as needed.
