Job summary

Sadler Health Center Co is seeking a Senior Accountant in Carlisle, PA to own month-end and year-end close, GL accounting, reconciliations, and journal entries. The role supports accounting across programs, grants, and cost centers within a healthcare nonprofit setting.

The ideal candidate has direct nonprofit/healthcare in-house accounting experience, familiarity with GAAP, and hands-on ledger work. Bachelor's in accounting required; 4+ years' experience; CPA beneficial.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or relevant field.
• Minimum of four years of general accounting experience.
• Advanced understanding of GAAP.
• Strong working knowledge of general ledger accounting, payroll, accounts payable, and cash processes.
• Experience with automated accounting systems.
• Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
• Demonstrated ability to manage deadlines and produce accurate work in a deadline-driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Performing key activities supporting the monthly and year-end accounting close.
• Preparing and reviewing general ledger account reconciliations and journal entries.
• Researching account discrepancies and accounting issues and ensuring transactions are recorded in accordance with GAAP and applicable federal requirements.
• Assisting with preparation of monthly financial reports.
• Reconciling bank accounts and maintaining accurate accounting records.
• Maintaining fixed asset and capital asset records, including depreciation schedules.
• Performing indirect cost allocations across programs, grants, and cost centers.
• Supporting annual budget preparation and periodic financial and budget analysis.
• Preparing grant invoices and reconciliations and supporting Federal Financial Reports, including the SF-425.
• Reconciling patient service revenue, sliding fee discounts, payer remittances, and cash receipts.
• Supporting the annual financial statement and Single Audit processes.
• Assisting with FQHC Medicare/Medicaid cost reporting, UDS financial reporting, Form 990 preparation, and other accounting requirements.
