Job summary

Sikich is seeking a Senior Accountant in the United States to work with engagement leaders to ensure timely completion of financial statement audits and provide superior service to external clients and internal stakeholders. You will supervise staff during engagements and contribute to team development.

The role requires a BA/BS in Accounting or Finance, 2+ years in public accounting with in-charge experience, and strong knowledge of US GAAP/GAAS.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years of progressive public accounting with in-charge experience.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and GAAS.
• Ability to manage multiple engagements in a fast-paced, interactive, results-based environment.
• CPA certification or eligibility to sit is highly desirable.
• Strong leadership, recruiting, training, and mentoring skills; excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and audit preparation software.
• Comfort with virtual work environment.

Responsibilities

• Direct field work, inform engagement leaders of audit engagement status and manage staff performance.
• Conduct audit tests to support professional opinions on client financial statements.
• Develop self and others through on-the-job coaching and engagement experiences.
• Develop and maintain productive relationships with clients to enhance satisfaction.
• Build credibility through business insight, technical competence and client discussions.
• Consult with clients on internal accounting transactions.
• Provide strategic accounting advice to clients.
• Review staff work product and performance.
• Ensure ongoing professional development and education.
• Deliver exceptional client support virtually and onsite as needed.
