With 15 distribution centers strategically located throughout the nation, HF Foods Group aims to supply the increasing demand for Asian American restaurant cuisine.

Position Summary

This position is responsible for overseeing core accounting and financial functions across the organization, with a primary focus on inventory, cost accounting, and related financial analytics. This role ensures accuracy in financial reporting, supports decision-making through actionable insights, and partners with cross-functional teams to drive efficiency and profitability. The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in general accounting, coupled with specialized expertise in inventory valuation, cost accounting, and operational financial analysis, along with excellent leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities
General Accounting
  • Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger maintenance, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
  • Ensure accurate and timely month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
  • Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
  • Support external audits, tax filings, bank requirement, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Manage and monitor cost accounting, inventory valuation, and manufacturing or distribution variances.
  • Analyze FIFO costs, and inventory reserves, identifying and explaining variances to plan and prior periods.
  • Oversee inventory cycle counts, and physical inventory processes, ensuring accuracy across systems and the general ledger.
  • Partner with IT, supply chain, procurement, and operations teams to ensure inventory transactions are properly recorded and controlled.
Financial Analytics & Reporting
  • Prepare and present financial reports, dashboards, and operational KPIs to senior management
  • Develop and maintain analytics that connect inventory and cost data to broader financial performance, margins, and profitability.
  • Deliver ad hoc financial analysis to support strategic decisions related to pricing, sourcing, and operations.
  • Collaborate with supply chain and distribution teams to optimize financial performance.
Budgeting & Forecasting
  • Lead or support budgeting and forecasting processes across the organization, ensuring alignment with company goals.
  • Build and maintain forecasting models for inventory levels, cost of goods sold, and related expenses.
  • Identify and address risks and opportunities within operational and inventory-related budgets.
Internal Controls & Compliance
  • Develop and enforce internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure accurate financial records, with particular attention to inventory controls.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
Leadership & Collaboration
  • Supervise and mentor a team of accounting professionals, fostering professional growth and development.
  • Act as a key liaison between the finance department and operations, supply chain, and distribution centers.
Systems & Process Improvement
  • Collaborate with IT and other departments to improve accounting systems and processes.
  • Support the implementation and optimization of ERP systems, reporting tools, and other financial technology, as needed.
  • Identify opportunities to automate and streamline inventory and cost accounting workflows.
Qualifications
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA preferred.
Experience
  • 3-5+ years of experience in accounting, with meaningful exposure to inventory management, cost accounting, or manufacturing/distribution environments.
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred.
Skills
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and cost accounting principles.
  • Strong financial analysis skills, with the ability to translate inventory and cost data into actionable business insights.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bi-lingual - Chinese (Mandarin) and English, a plus.
  • Experience in distribution, supply chain, or manufacturing environments.
  • Experience building financial models or dashboards using tools such as Excel, Power BI, or similar.
Salary Range:

$80,000.00 - $150,000.00
