About The Job: Senior Accountant 5 - 152573-1
  • Location: remote - must meet PST core hours
  • Schedule: M-F, 40 HR
  • Start Date: 5/12/2025
  • Salary: $52.45/hourly

Candidates with previous experience working at Microsoft Corporation, either as a full-time employee (FTE) or contractor, are strongly preferred.

Summary

The main function of an accountant is to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports to determine or maintain record of assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liability, or other financial activities within an organization. A typical accountant is responsible for analyzing and communicating financial information for clients.

Job Responsibilities
  1. Review accounting records, financial statements or other financial reports created by staff to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards.
  2. Review and approve budgets and periodic reports that compare budgeted costs to actual costs.
  3. Create recordkeeping and accounting systems.
  4. Prepare forms and manuals for accounting and bookkeeping personnel and direct their work activities.
  5. Survey operations to ascertain accounting needs and to recommend and/or develop solutions to business and financial problems.
  6. Advise executives about issues such as resource utilization, tax strategies and the assumptions underlying budget forecasts.
  7. Review and analyze data to detect deficient controls, duplicated effort, extravagance, fraud, or non-compliance with laws, regulations, and management policies.
  8. Analyze and verify annual reports, financial statements, and other records, using accepted accounting and statistical procedures to assess financial condition and facilitate financial planning.

  • Application of accounting and mathematical principles.
  • Analysis of business trends and projecting future revenues and expenses.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and company policies, procedures, and regulations related to accounting.

Education/Experience

Bachelor's degree in accounting or related financial discipline is required. An advanced degree is preferred. Minimum 10+ years of financial and/or accounting experience.

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related discipline; advanced degree preferred.
  • Experience with compliance, controls, and partner incentives is required.
  • Knowledge of using Copilot for data analysis is a plus.
  • Performance will be assessed based on deadlines and quality of work.
