LHH is seeking a Senior Accountant to join a growing organization with a dynamic and expanding accounting team. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional looking to transition from public accounting into a corporate environment while continuing to work on complex accounting matters and high-impact financial initiatives.

The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of progressive accounting experience, with a strong preference for individuals coming directly out of public accounting, ideally from a Big 4, large national, or reputable regional public accounting firm. Candidates should bring a strong foundation in U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, audit, and technical accounting, along with the ability to research complex transactions and communicate accounting conclusions effectively.

This position will play a key role in supporting financial reporting, technical accounting research, acquisition accounting, debt and equity transactions, and internal controls. The Senior Accountant will work closely with accounting leadership, external auditors, and cross-functional teams while helping enhance accounting processes and reporting capabilities as the organization continues to grow.

Responsibilities

• Research and analyze complex accounting matters in accordance with U.S. GAAP, including preparing technical accounting memorandums and supporting documentation.
• Assist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, financial reporting packages, and related disclosures.
• Support accounting for acquisitions, business combinations, debt and equity transactions, and stock-based compensation.
• Partner with accounting leadership to develop and improve accounting policies, procedures, and financial reporting processes.
• Coordinate with external auditors and assist with audit requests, technical accounting questions, and supporting schedules.
• Assist with documenting and strengthening internal controls over financial reporting.
• Evaluate new accounting standards and assist with implementation of applicable accounting guidance.
• Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes, improve reporting accuracy, and enhance operational efficiencies.
• Collaborate with finance, operations, and other departments on strategic initiatives, system implementations, and special projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
• 3+ years of accounting experience, with public accounting experience strongly preferred. Candidates from Big 4, large national, or established regional public accounting firms are highly desirable.
• CPA designation or active progress toward CPA certification strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, financial statement preparation, and technical accounting principles.
• Experience researching complex accounting issues and documenting accounting conclusions.
• Background in external audit, accounting advisory, technical accounting, or financial reporting highly preferred.
• Exposure to acquisition accounting, business combinations, debt transactions, equity accounting, or stock-based compensation is a plus.
• Experience with internal controls, SOX compliance, or financial reporting process improvements preferred.
• Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with ERP or financial reporting systems.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
