Job summary

The City of Williamsburg, VA is seeking a finance professional with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and 3–5 years of finance or accounting experience to manage financial records and support city operations.

Ideal candidates will have extensive ERP system experience and strong MS Office skills; familiarity with GAAP and GASB is preferred, and government finance experience is highly valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field from an accredited college or university.
• Three to five years of finance/accounting experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Extensive experience within an ERP database or similar accounting system.
• Preferred: government finance experience and knowledge of municipal finance laws and regulations.
• Preferred: advanced knowledge of accounting/auditing theory, GAAP, and GASB statements.
• Preferred: advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
