Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced accounting professional in Illinois to manage financial statement preparation, reporting, and variance analyses. The role reports to the Senior Accounting Manager and requires delivering timely, accurate statements and supporting documentation for leadership and lenders.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in accounting, U.S. GAAP knowledge, and strong Excel abilities, with CPA or MBA preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• CPA or MBA preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities across all level of the organization.
• Strong leadership skills with a dedication to driving and achieving results.
• Experience with other financial systems; NetSuite experience preferred.
• Advanced Excel knowledge.
• Thorough knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
• FX experience; foreign exchange.
• Detailed and accurate data entry.

Responsibilities

• Report directly to the Senior Accounting Manager
• Ensure the timely and accurate delivery of financial statements and reporting
• Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements for accuracy and completeness
• Prepare and maintain reporting packages, variance analyses, and supporting documentation for executive leadership, private equity ownership, lenders, and other key stakeholders
• Calculate, review, reconcile, and analyze sales commissions and incentive compensation programs
• Ensure accurate payments, proper accruals, and compliance with approved compensation plans
• Assist in preparing the annual budget and periodic forecasts
• Assist with year-end financial audit activities and the annual corporate financial controls audit
• Assess current practices and procedures and recommend improvements
• Perform ad hoc analysis and projects as requested
• Supervise and/or manage general ledger accounting functions
• Work with external auditors to ensure correct and timely closing and reporting
• Perform other duties as assigned
