Job summary

Beacon Hill in Washington, DC is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our accounting team to support month-end close activities, reconciliations, and general accounting operations.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, strong GAAP knowledge, and advanced Excel skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, while delivering accurate financial records.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting and financial reporting.
• Experience with month-end close and account reconciliations.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries
• Perform account reconciliations and analysis
• Support month-end and quarter-end close processes
• Maintain balance sheet schedules and supporting documentation
• Assist with accruals, fixed assets, and other general ledger activities
• Research and resolve accounting discrepancies
• Support financial reporting and ad hoc projects as needed
