Job summary

Propel Recruitment LLC represents a growing real estate investment and development firm seeking a Senior Accountant to join its Walnut Creek finance team. This is a hands-on role with exposure across a diversified portfolio and close collaboration with senior finance leadership toward scalable growth.

You will own day-to-day accounting for entities, prepare monthly and quarterly financial statements, manage the general ledger, support investor reporting, and assist with budgeting and cash

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong foundation in general ledger accounting, financial reporting, and month-end close.
• Real estate accounting experience strongly preferred; multifamily experience is a plus.
• Ability to work independently while remaining highly collaborative.
• Strong communication skills and the judgment to work effectively with colleagues across levels.
• Team-first approach with a willingness to roll up your sleeves when needed.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day accounting for assigned real estate entities and properties.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly financial statements, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
• Own general ledger activity, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.
• Support property-level and corporate accounting across a portfolio that includes multifamily and other real estate investments.
• Assist with investor and management reporting and ensure accurate, timely financial information.
• Partner with the Director of Finance and broader team on month-end and year-end close.
• Support budgeting, cash management, and financial analysis as needed.
• Coordinate with internal teams, external partners, auditors, and tax providers.
• Help strengthen accounting processes and reporting as the organization continues to institutionalize its platform.
• Take on increasing responsibility as the company and finance team grow.

What We’re Looking For

• Experience with the Intuit Suite, Yardi, and/or Juniper Square is helpful but not required.
