Senior Accountant
Location: Fully Remote

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant with a strong background in account reconciliations. This role will be performing reconciliations for up to 20 accounts, maintaining general ledger integrity, and supporting month-end and year-end close processes. The ideal candidate also has experience with Deltek Vantagepoint or Costpoint, has a keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and great communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform complex reconciliations of accounts, including bank, intercompany, and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data in Deltek Vantagepoint and other accounting systems.
• Support month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, accruals, and variance analysis.
• Maintain general ledger accounts and assist in financial statement preparation.
• Identify and resolve discrepancies, ensuring proper documentation and compliance with accounting standards.
• Work closely with project managers, finance teams, and leadership to ensure financial accuracy and adherence to budgets.
• Assist with audit preparation and ensure compliance with GAAP, company policies, and internal controls.
• Recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency in reconciliations and financial reporting.
• Support additional accounting functions as needed, including AP/AR and payroll reconciliation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a project-based or professional services environment.
• Strong proficiency in Deltek Vantagepoint (or Deltek Costpoint/Vision) is required.
• Advanced knowledge of account reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting.
• Understanding of GAAP accounting principles and best practices.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data analysis).
• Strong analytical skills and high attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a deadline-driven environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• CPA or progress toward CPA certification.
• Experience in government contracting or professional services accounting.
