This is a remote position.

Schedule: Flexible — Monday to Friday or split (½ day Monday and ½ day on the weekend)

Timezone: Australian Eastern Time (AET)

Total Weekly Hours: 40 hours

Client Overview

Join a growing pool services franchise that’s part of a well-known Australian network. Serving both residential and commercial clients across Victoria—including gyms, aged care centers, and hospitals—the business is expanding and upgrading its systems as part of a digital transformation.

Our client is looking for an experienced Accountant/Bookkeeper to manage all financial operations. This role is perfect for someone organized and detail-oriented, with strong experience in Xero and Australian payroll, and Lightspeed/inventory. You’ll work closely with the owner, handling finances for a business with over 25,000 products and 24 suppliers. It’s a flexible role with room to grow as the business scales.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage end-to-end bookkeeping and payroll in Xero
  • Oversee multi-system invoicing and ensure accurate financial records
  • Process and track orders across 24 supplier portals
  • Perform goods receipting and maintain accurate warehouse inventory
  • Conduct daily bank reconciliations and ensure financial accuracy
  • Prepare BAS (Business Activity Statements) and other compliance reports
  • Collaborate with external accountants for compliance and reporting
  • Maintain and optimize the chart of accounts to support growth
  • Ensure alignment across ordering, receiving, and payment systems
Requirements
  • Proven expertise in Xero and Australian bookkeeping standards
  • In-depth knowledge of Australian payroll and BAS compliance
  • Experience working with inventory systems and supplier platforms
  • Excellent attention to detail and data accuracy
  • Proficient with browser-based systems and Google Workspace
  • Able to work independently and manage time effectively
  • Experience working with external accounting firms
  • Willing to scale hours and responsibilities as the business grows
