A CPA firm in Smithtown, NY is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Senior Accountant to join their team. The ideal candidate must have 5-10 years of experience. This role offers hands-on experience in financial reporting, tax preparation, and general accounting functions, with opportunities to grow within the firm. Salary: $100,000 - $130,000 per year

Shift: First

Work hours: 8 AM - 5 PM

Education: Bachelor's degree

Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
• Reconcile bank and general ledger accounts
• Process accounts payable and receivable transactions
• Assist with payroll processing, ensuring compliance with laws and regulations
• Prepare and submit tax returns such as sales tax, payroll tax, and income tax filings
• Support budget preparation and financial forecasting
• Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement
• Ensure compliance with accounting principles and company policies
