Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Oversee month-end closing procedures including journal entries and related schedules (warranty accruals, payroll/benefits, prepaid items, debt, fixed assets).
• Perform monthly/quarterly reconciliations and communicate findings company-wide.
• Create ad-hoc financial and accounting reports for internal and external audits.
• Lead special projects and other accounting assignments as needed.
• Develop and document policies and workflows for assigned areas.
• Assist Internal Audit and Accounting Manager to support remediation of internal controls.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Summary

The Senior Accountant ensures the accuracy of entries to ledger accounts and reconciles subsidiary ledger accounts to the general ledger. Maintains financial records and ensures that financial transactions are properly recorded. A Senior Accountant analyzes current costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations incurred to predict future revenues and expenses. Prepares complex balance sheets, profit and loss statements and other financial reports. In addition, Senior Accountant may review and guide the work of lower-level accountants. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in timely and accurate financial reporting as well as implementation of controls around operations and SOX compliance.

Essential Responsibilities

• Oversee various month-end closing procedures including preparing journal entries and related supporting schedules; specific accounting areas include warranty accruals, company payroll/benefit account review, prepaid items, as well as debt and fixed asset management.
• Conduct monthly and quarterly account reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance. Communicate findings as needed throughout the company.
• Create financial and accounting ad-hoc reports for analysis by internal and external regulatory audit compliance.
• Work on various special projects and perform other accounting assignments as needed.
• Develop and document policies, procedures and workflow for assigned areas of responsibility.
• Work with Internal Audit and the Accounting Manager to support the remediation process around internal controls.
• Other duties assigned by management.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree, in Accounting or Finance
• Accounting experience at an SEC registrant company or public accounting firm with SEC clients.
• Proficient understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Experience running financial reports and complex accounting operations with minimum supervision

Preferred Qualifications

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or CPA candidate preferred
• Epicor ERP system knowledge
• Manufacturing industry experience
