Senior Accountant
Location options: Remote - East Coast

A fast-growing, tech-forward insurance organization is hiring a Senior Accountant to support financial reporting and regulatory filings. This role reports directly to the Controller and is a key part of a small, collaborative accounting team within a dynamic and evolving business.

The company is focused on retirement-oriented products and serves both domestic and international markets. With a strong emphasis on modernizing financial services, they are committed to simplicity, transparency, and partnership-driven growth.

What You’ll Do:
  • Prepare financial statements in accordance with US GAAP and insurance regulatory standards
  • Handle journal entries, reconciliations, and monthly close activities
  • Support audits and examinations, ensuring timely and accurate responses
  • Maintain and improve internal controls and accounting processes
  • Analyze financial results and trends to support management decisions
  • Assist with ad-hoc reporting and cross-functional initiatives
What We’re Looking For:
  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in insurance or financial services
  • Strong Excel skills; ERP system experience required (Sage experience is helpful but not required)
  • Exposure to statutory reporting for life or health insurers is highly preferred
  • Working knowledge of updated GAAP standards (LDTI or similar) is a plus
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and a clear communicator
