Job summary

DOOR is seeking a detail-oriented Senior Accountant in St. Louis, Missouri. You will play a critical role in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the monthly close processes.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance and over 5 years of progressive accounting experience. The position offers a hybrid work model—3-4 days in the office and 1-2 days working from home.

Senior Accountant

DOOR – St. Louis, Missouri, United States – Accounting/Finance

About this Position

DOOR is looking for a highly detail‑oriented and hands‑on Senior Accountant to support day‑to‑day accounting operations. The role will play a critical part in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting the monthly close process, preparing reconciliations, and ensuring financial data is reliable.

The ideal candidate enjoys being deeply involved in the operational side of accounting, thrives in a fast‑paced environment, and can independently manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy and organization. The position partners closely with the Controller and the broader Finance team to support DOOR’s continued growth and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities
  • Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Prepare and post journal entries for month‑end close activities.
  • Own assigned balance sheet accounts, including complex reconciliations and variance analysis.
  • Manage internal capitalization process (ASC 350‑40).
  • Assist with maintaining the general ledger and ensuring financial data integrity.
  • Prepare variance analyses and supporting schedules for management review.
  • Support accounting for prepaid expenses, fixed assets, accruals, inventory, cash, and intercompany transactions.
  • Assist with expense tracking, account analysis, and transaction research.
  • Ensure accounting records comply with US GAAP and company accounting policies.
  • Prepare audit schedules and support internal and external audit requests.
  • Assist with the preparation of external SEC reporting, including tie‑outs of reports.
  • Support banking activities, cash reporting, and treasury‑related tasks.
  • Help improve accounting processes and identify opportunities for automation and operational efficiency.
  • Maintain organized documentation and support process standardization across accounting workflows.
  • Partner with teams across Finance, Operations, Revenue, and Accounts Payable to resolve discrepancies and support ad‑hoc reporting.
  • Participate in system and process improvement initiatives within NetSuite and other financial tools.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and general ledger accounting.
  • Experience supporting month‑end and year‑end close processes.
  • Experience preparing journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Strong Excel skills and experience working within ERP systems (NetSuite preferred).
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating cross‑functionally.
Preferred Qualifications
  • CPA certification or CPA‑eligible status.
  • Public accounting experience.
  • Experience in a technology, SaaS, hardware, or publicly traded company environment.
  • Familiarity with SOX controls and audit support processes.
  • Experience with revenue recognition and inventory accounting.
