Job summary

4M Building Solutions in St. Louis, MO is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our Finance team. You will prepare financial statements, manage fixed asset accounting, support budgeting and forecasting, and help ensure GAAP compliance.

This hybrid role includes four remote days and one in-office day per week, collaborating with leaders across the business to maintain financial health and drive improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of progressive accounting experience.
• Experience with financial reporting, general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, budgeting, audit support, and fixed asset accounting.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Experience with ERP/accounting software preferred.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• High level of integrity and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly financial statements, including the balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statement.
• Maintain the general ledger and assist with month-end and year-end close.
• Record, analyze, and reconcile financial transactions.
• Prepare audit schedules and supporting documentation.
• Assist with personal property tax filings and other required reporting.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies.
• Recommend process improvements and strengthen internal controls.
• Maintain the fixed asset register.
• Record asset acquisitions, transfers, disposals, and retirements.
• Calculate and record depreciation.
• Reconcile fixed asset accounts and resolve discrepancies.
• Monitor capital projects to ensure proper accounting treatment.
• Prepare cash flow forecasts and monitor daily cash positions.
• Assist with annual budgeting and financial forecasting.
• Analyze budget-to-actual variances.
• Partner with department leaders and external auditors to provide financial information and resolve accounting matters.

About The Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Senior Accountant to join our Finance team. In this role, you will prepare financial statements, manage fixed asset accounting, support budgeting and forecasting, and help ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). This position plays a key role in maintaining the financial health of the organization while partnering with leaders across the business.

Work Arrangement

This position is currently structured as a hybrid role, with four (4) remote workdays and one (1) in-office day per week. This schedule is based on current business needs and may be modified in the future.

What You'll Do

Financial Reporting & General Accounting

• Prepare monthly financial statements, including the balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statement.
