Job summary

EPIC Health is seeking a hands-on Senior Accountant to manage GAAP-based general ledger operations across multiple entities in a fast-growing healthcare organization.

You will drive month-end close, improve SOPs, enhance financial controls, and collaborate with finance, HR, and operations to support scale and strategic growth. This role is based in Southfield, MI and offers opportunities to impact organizational performance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 5+ years hands-on accounting experience.
  • GAAP, financial reporting, general ledger, and multi-entity accounting.
  • Multi-state accounts payable, accounts receivable, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Process-improvement mindset with practical solutions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with Finance, HR, Operations.

Responsibilities

  • Manage general ledger accounting for multiple entities and GAAP reporting.
  • Oversee month-end and year-end close, reconciliations, and reporting.
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, reconciliations, and schedules.
  • Maintain strong financial controls and policy compliance.
  • Identify discrepancies and resolve issues proactively.

  • Monitor vendor accounts, payments, and reconciliations.
  • Develop SOPs and internal controls for finance processes.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling.
  • Provide data-driven insights to support growth and decisions.

EPIC Health is a rapidly growing healthcare organization undergoing national expansion. As we continue to grow, we are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to support and strengthen our financial operations.

This is a hands-on accounting role ideal for an experienced accounting professional who understands the pace and complexity of a growing organization and is comfortable improving processes, implementing best practices, and working cross-functionally.

Position Summary

The Senior Accountant will play a key role in managing and improving EPIC Health's financial operations, including general ledger accounting, multi-entity accounting, month-end close, accounts payable, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.

This role will also help develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), financial controls, and process improvements to increase accuracy, efficiency, and scalability within the Finance department.

What You\'ll Do
Accounting & Financial Operations
  • Manage general ledger accounting for multiple entities, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with GAAP.
  • Oversee month-end and year-end close processes, including account reconciliations and financial reporting.
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
  • Maintain strong financial controls and ensure compliance with internal policies and applicable regulations.
  • Identify accounting discrepancies and work proactively to resolve issues.
  • Coordinate accounts payable activities and ensure timely and accurate invoice processing.
  • Monitor vendor accounts, payments, and reconciliations.
  • Maintain strong vendor relationships and identify opportunities to improve financial operations and cash flow.
  • Establish and improve AP processes and controls.
Budgeting, Forecasting & Financial Analysis
  • Assist with annual budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling.
  • Monitor financial performance and identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Analyze variances and provide recommendations to Finance and operational leadership.
  • Provide data-driven financial insights to support business growth and decision-making.
Process Improvement & SOP Development
  • Develop, document, and implement SOPs and internal controls for finance and accounting processes.
  • Identify inefficiencies and recommend solutions that improve accuracy, efficiency, and scalability.
  • Standardize financial processes across entities and departments.
  • Ensure finance-related policies and procedures remain current and effectively communicated.
  • Support the implementation and optimization of accounting and financial systems.
What You Bring
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor\'s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of hands-on accounting experience, preferably within a small business, healthcare organization, or growth-stage company.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, general ledger accounting, and multi-entity accounting.
  • Experience with multi-state accounts payable, accounts receivable, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Experience with month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Process-improvement mindset with the ability to identify issues and develop practical solutions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with Finance, HR, Operations, and other departments.
Technical Skills

Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including:

  • INDEX/MATCH
  • Power Query
  • Financial modeling and forecasting
  • Macros/VBA preferred, but not required
