Job summary

VACCO Industries, a Subsidiary of ESCO Technologies Inc., seeks a Senior Accountant to lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes and manage journal entries and reconciliations. You will act as the SAP S/4HANA Finance SME, partnering with IT to enhance SAP functionality and automate manual accounting tasks.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of manufacturing accounting experience, strong GAAP knowledge, and the ability to collaborate across teams and support audits.

Qualifications

• Public company and aerospace & defense industry experience preferred.

The Senior Accountant is responsible for supporting the company's accounting and financial reporting activities while serving as the primary Finance resource for SAP S/4HANA. This role manages the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process, prepares journal entries and account reconciliations, analyzes financial results, and helps ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal controls. The position also works closely with IT and business partners to support and improve SAP Finance processes, implement system enhancements, develop financial reporting, identify opportunities to automate manual processes, and provide guidance and support to Finance users.

The ideal candidate has a strong accounting background, hands-on SAP S/4HANA experience, and the ability to solve problems, improve processes, and work effectively across teams.

SAP S/4HANA Finance Functional Expert

Serve as the Finance Subject Matter Expert (SME) for SAP S/4HANA by:

• Own Finance business processes within SAP S/4HANA.
• Partner with IT on system enhancements and upgrades.
• Evaluate and recommend new SAP functionality that improves Finance operations.
• Configure or support functional configuration changes (as appropriate).
• Analyze system issues and coordinate resolutions.
• Ensure SAP functionality aligns with accounting policies and business requirements.
• Identify opportunities to automate manual accounting processes.
• Maintain Finance process documentation and SOPs.
• Develop and maintain financial reports, dashboards, and KPIs.
• Provide ongoing SAP training and guidance to Finance users.
• Act as the primary liaison between Finance and IT for SAP-related initiatives.

Education and/or Experience:

• BS or BA degree in accounting or Finance
• Advanced Excel Skills
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
• 5+ years of Accounting experience in a Manufacturing environment. Public company and Aerospace & Defense Industry experience preferred.
