The Role

As a Senior Accountant at Glenn Burdette, you will perform bookkeeping, outsourced accounting, outsourced controller, litigation support, forecasting and modeling, and family office services to our clients. You will advise clients on appropriate financial and visionary strategies and play a key role in the month-end close process. You will carry out your project management, analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills. Our company is team-oriented and prides itself on providing quality work and excellent customer relations in a friendly, superior working environment. Openings are available in a remote, hybrid, or fully onsite environment or in our San Luis Obispo, Paso Robles, and Santa Maria offices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute the vision of the monthly financial close ensuring it is timely, and the monthly close deliverable is achieved.
  • Ability to complete complex and non-complex account reconciliations and record transactions as part of the monthly closing process.
  • Apply GAAP guidance related to the clients’ specific industry.
  • Review financial statements, prepare variance analysis, and analyze unusual items.
  • Assist in onboarding and offboarding of clients.
  • Participate and lead special projects such as implementation of Bill.com, payroll provider conversion, and accounting system migration.
  • Assist annually with the preparation of the financial statement audit with the client’s external auditors.
  • Prepare annual business filings (i.e., 1099s and business property tax statements (571-L)).
Required Qualifications
  • 3+ years of accounting experience required with month-end close experience.
  • 1+ years of experience mentoring and training staff.
  • BA/BS degree in accounting from an accredited university or a strong combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to work efficiently and to prioritize and manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Must be able to take ownership of projects, think and work independently with the capacity to research issues and solve problems.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with clients.
  • Strong knowledge of QuickBooks Online and Desktop.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working as an Auditor.
  • Experience cleaning up client financial statements.
  • Working towards becoming a CPA if not already licensed.
  • Experience working with Sage Intacct and Bill.com.
  • Analytical thinking with strong organizational skills.

The pay range for this role is $80,000 - $105,000 per year. This range includes the anticipated low and high end of the pay range for this position. Actual compensation may vary based on various factors, including experience, education, and/or skill level.
