Job summary

PCI Pharm seeks an experienced accounting professional to maintain the general ledger, ensure GAAP compliance, and support external audits. The role involves reconciling balance sheet accounts, analyzing expenses, and driving process improvements across the finance organization.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, a strong US GAAP background, and advanced Excel skills. CPA preferred; on-site work in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience in corporate or complex environment.
  • CPA certification preferred.
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP.
  • Experience with month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, financial analysis).
  • Experience with ERP/accounting systems; large-scale ERP a plus.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the integrity of the general ledger and GAAP compliance.
  • Perform, review and analyze a broad range of accounting activities to ensure policy compliance.
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts.
  • Conduct regular ledger maintenance.
  • Analyze expenses to evaluate cost opportunities.
  • Evaluate workflows to improve accuracy and efficiency.
  • Monitor accounting data and produce financial reports.
  • Assist with external financial audits and follow up on recommendations.
  • Document transactions and establish records.
  • Identify efficiencies in current accounting practices.
  • Ensure a safe and compliant workplace per EHS policies.
  • Other duties as assigned

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Maintain the integrity of the general ledger and ensure compliance with accounting policies and applicable GAAP requirements.
  • Perform, review and analyze a broad range of complex accounting activities in order to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Reconcile Balance Sheet Accounts
  • Conduct regular ledger maintenance
  • Analyze expenses to evaluate cost opportunities
  • Evaluate current work flow to recommend changes to increase accuracy and efficiencies
  • Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce financial reports or statements
  • Assist with External Financial Audit and follow up audit recommendations
  • Establish and maintain records to document transactions
  • Identify efficiencies and improvements in current accounting practices
  • Foster a safe and environmentally sustainable workplace by ensuring compliance with all PCI EHS policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned

Work Environment:

  • This position has the utmost responsibility for compliance with the rules and regulations regarding a safe and healthy work environment relative to their actions and conduct.
  • Off-shift, weekend and overtime duties may be required.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a corporate or complex operating environment.
  • CPA certification is highly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP.
  • Experience with month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, and financial analysis.
  • Experience with ERP/accounting systems; experience with large-scale ERP environments is a plus.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Public accounting or Big Four experience.
  • CPA license or active CPA candidate.
  • Experience in a manufacturing, life sciences, pharmaceutical, or other regulated industry.
  • Experience with revenue recognition and complex accounting transactions.
  • Strong business partnering skills and experience working with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
