iHeartMedia in San Antonio, TX is seeking an Accountant who embraces ownership and impact. You will work with the Accounting Team and Finance partners to transform financial data into actionable insights, and you will own P&L for the lines of business you support.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in accounting, 5+ years of accrual-based accounting, advanced Excel, and experience with Cognos, NetSuite or PeopleSoft. Strong communication and teamwork are essential for success in this position.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Work with Accounting Team and Finance partners to transform financial data into actionable information and insights.
• Own full P&L for the lines of business supported; record and review standard and non-standard transactions; explain variances.
• Own balance sheet reconciliations; prepare executive summaries; drive open-item resolution to ensure accuracy.
• Connect transactions to impacts on P&L and balance sheet.
• Identify opportunities and communicate them to supervisors; propose solutions.
• Provide internal and external audit support; compile documentation and coordinate resources.
• Assist in preparing footnote disclosures and schedules for Corporate Accounting.
• Participate in special projects and cross-functional teams.
• Develop expertise in iHM's accounting systems for efficient data processing.

What We Need:

What You'll Do:

• Work directly with the Accounting Team in close collaboration with our Finance partners to transform financial data into actionable information and insights.
• This position has full P&L responsibility for the lines of business they support, including recording and reviewing standard and non-standard accounting transactions, explaining variances to forecast and budget, able to identify opportunities for improvement, and work with the finance team to identify business risks and opportunities.
• Owner of complex balance sheets reconciliations, including preparing executive summaries, reviewing balance sheet reconciliations prepared by iHeartMedia Staff Accountants, and proactively working open items to resolution to ensure the balance sheet is correct.
• Connect the dots between transactions and their impact on the P&L and balance sheet.
• Identify and communicate opportunity areas to supervisors while also proposing solutions.
• Provide internal and external audit support, compiling documentation, coordinating efforts with both financial and non-financial resources, and ensuring audit documentation is complete and demonstrates an adequate audit trail.
• Assist in preparing footnote disclosures and supporting schedules for Corporate Accounting.
• Participate in special projects and cross functional teams.
• Develop expertise in iHM's accounting systems to effectively and efficiently process and mine financial data.
• Develop subject matter expertise on different areas assigned.

What You'll Need:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting and 5+ years of relevant accrual-based accounting experience required.
• Advanced skills in Excel including advanced formulas, pivot tables and v-lookup functions in order to manipulate large data sets.
• Financial systems experience (COGNOS, NetSuite, Peoplesoft, etc.).
• Able to effectively communicate across multiple levels of the organization, both written and oral.
