Job summary

LEMO GROUP in California is seeking an experienced accountant responsible for general ledger, sales reporting, and cost accounting. You will maintain accounting records and support the month-end close.

The role requires detailed analysis, inter-company reconciliations, depreciation schedules, payroll processing, and aiding year-end audits. You’ll collaborate with AR and billing teams to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with company policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Accounting preferred; or Bachelor degree in Business accepted with related experience
• Minimum five (5) years in related field or equivalent experience
• Data entry and 10-key by touch with speed and accuracy
• Strong attention to detail, time management and organizational skills
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Good judgment and analytical skills
• Excellent knowledge of double entry accounting and its procedures and requirements
• Working knowledge of Microsoft office products

Responsibilities

• Perform month-end close processes
• Reconcile bank statements monthly and prepare journal entries
• Maintain inter-company reconciliations
• Prepare and analyze monthly account reconciliations
• Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules
• Assist with monthly financial statements and variance analysis
• Oversee AR collections and RMA processing
• Coordinate with Accounts Receivable on terms, credit limits, and holds
• Monitor AR aging and communicate collection concerns
• Prepare Margin reports and investigate low-margin business
• Handle daily cycle counts
• Prepare sales tax returns for multiple states
• Assist with year-end audit
• Manage standard price and PDQ (price delivery quotes)
• Prepare daily/monthly sales reports
• Prepare quarterly sales forecast
• Oversee payroll including 401k and workers’ comp audits
• Back up for accounting and costing functions
• Other duties as assigned

Job description

Performs accounting functions related to general ledger accounting, Sales Reporting and cost accounting. Responsible for maintaining accounting records and general ledger.

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES

• Responsible for month end process
• Monthly bank reconciliation including preparation of journal entries
• Maintain accurate inter-company reconciliations
• Prepares and analyzes monthly account reconciliations
• Maintain the Fixed Asset and associated depreciation schedules
• Assists with preparing and analyzing financial statements monthly and report on variances
• Responsible for RMA Processing & monitor AR collections
• Working with the Accounts Receivable Specialist, maintain customer payment terms, credit limits, and credit holds in accordance with company policies.
• Monitor accounts receivable aging and communicate collection concerns to the Accounting Manager.
• Prepares and reviews Margin Reports on a monthly basis. Researching low margin business
• Responsible for daily cycle counts
• Prepare Sales Tax returns for various states
• Assist with Year end Audit
• Responsible for Standard Price, Delivery to Quote (PDQ)
• Prepares Daily/Monthly Sales Reports
• Prepares Quarterly Sales Forecast

• Back up for all basic accounting functions and costing function
