Job summary

Dominion Energy is seeking an experienced accountant to prepare, review, and analyze accounting records and financial reports related to PJM activity in a hybrid work environment in Virginia. Qualified candidates have 5+ years of accounting experience, a relevant degree (Bachelor or higher), and may hold CPA.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, review and analyze accounting records, financial statements and other reports related to PJM activity.
• Gather, compile, and review PJM activity to process weekly billings and monthly GL activity.
• Identify areas for automation and process improvements.
• Identify inconsistencies and resolve problems; perform accounting controls.
• Participate in month-end, quarterly, and year-end closings and reporting.
• Support quarterly and year-end FERC reporting; interact with internal and external customers.

Job Summary

This role is responsible for preparing, reviewing and analyzing accounting records, financial statements and other financial reports related to PJM activity.
Specific duties include:

• Gather, compile, and review weekly/monthly PJM activity to process weekly billings, record monthly GL acitivty, and distribute monthly records.
• Conduct complex assignments and analysis involving the day-to-day maintenance of the general ledger.
• Identify areas for increased process automation and other efficiencies and work to implement them.
• Identify inconsistencies and problems and work to resolve them.
• Perform appropriate accounting controls.
• Participate in month-end, quarterly, and year-end closings and financial reporting activities.
• Participate in and perform quarterly and year-end Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) financial reporting requirements and responsibilities.
• Routinely interact with both internal and external customers.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

Required: 5+ years of related accounting experience. Note: A Master's degree will count as one year towards the experience requirement. A partial year of six months or more experience will be rounded up to one year.
Specific knowledge, skills, abilities and experience:

• Broad knowledge of U.S. General Accounting Principles (GAAP) practices and procedures
• Excellent SAP General Ledger skills
• Excellent computer skills including Excel
• Effective communication, interpersonal and customer service skills
• Excellent analytical skills
• Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task
• Ability to work independently and as a member of a team

Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education: Bachelor

The expected hiring base salary range is the range we anticipate hiring within for this position. The actual salary offered may vary based on factors such as the selected candidate’s qualifications, skills, experience, and work location.
