Our client in Pittsburgh is seeking a Senior Accountant to join the corporate accounting team. Hybrid work arrangement in Pittsburgh, PA.

The role covers a broad range of activities including financial reporting, month-end close, technical accounting, and audit support. The ideal candidate will have strong GAAP knowledge, solid general ledger and financial reporting experience, and the ability to research complex accounting matters.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 3+ years of progressive accounting experience; public accounting preferred
• CPA certification or active pursuit of CPA preferred
• Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting principles
• Experience with general ledger accounting and financial statement prep
• Analytical, problem-solving, and research skills

Responsibilities

• Support preparation and review of external financial statements and internal management reports
• Prepare and analyze financial information to support business decisions
• Research and document technical accounting matters and disclosures
• Monitor new accounting standards and assess impact
• Prepare and record journal entries for assigned accounts
• Reconcile general ledger accounts and investigate variances
• Review intercompany balances and ensure reconciliations
• Assist with quarterly and year-end external audits and schedules
• Support quarterly and year-end financial reporting packages
• Maintain accounting policies in response to new guidance
• Participate in SOX documentation and testing
• Perform financial analysis and special projects for management
• Provide accounting guidance to Senior and Staff Accountants
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve issues
• Identify opportunities to improve processes and controls
• Perform other accounting and finance duties

Our client is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their corporate accounting team in Pittsburgh. This role will be responsible for a variety of accounting, financial reporting, month-end close, technical accounting, and audit-related activities.

The ideal candidate will have strong general ledger and financial reporting experience, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to research and apply accounting guidance to complex transactions. Public accounting experience and a CPA are highly preferred.

Overview Of The Senior Accountant Role

• Support the preparation and review of external financial statements and internal management reports
• Prepare and analyze financial information to support business and management decisions
• Research, analyze, and document technical accounting matters and financial statement disclosures
• Monitor and evaluate new accounting standards and assess their impact on the organization
• Prepare and record accurate journal entries for assigned accounts and transactions
• Reconcile assigned general ledger accounts and investigate variances or discrepancies
• Review and maintain intercompany balances and ensure accounts are properly reconciled
• Assist with quarterly and year-end external audit requests and supporting schedules
• Support the preparation of quarterly and year-end financial reporting packages
