Job summary

Dealer Owned Warranty Company LLC in Parsippany, NJ is seeking a Senior Accountant to drive accuracy and efficiency in the company’s accounting function. You will manage the day-to-day GL, prepare financial statements, and ensure GAAP compliance across multiple entities.

Responsibilities include closing processes, policy maintenance, internal controls, and cross-functional collaboration for strategic initiatives and growth investments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field required.
• Minimum 5+ years of corporate accounting experience.
• Strong Excel and ERP proficiency, NetSuite preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations for balance sheet and income statement accounts.
• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual GL close with accuracy and timeliness.
• Prepare financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow) per US GAAP.
• Support management with operational KPIs and cross-functional initiatives.
• Maintain and enhance accounting policies, internal controls and procedures.

Job Summary:

The Senior Accountant plays a critical, hands-on role in the company’s accounting function by driving accuracy, efficiency and consistently across the company’s financial operations this role. This position is responsible for managing the day-to-day general ledger (GL) accounting, operations, preparing and analyzing financial statements, reconciling accounts, and ensuring compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Prepare journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations for balance sheet and income statement accounts.
• Execute monthly, quarterly, and annual general ledger close activities with accuracy and timeliness.
• Prepare complete and accurate financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow) in compliance with U.S. GAAP.
• Support management with operational KPIs.
• Partner cross-functionally to support the launch of new business initiatives, expansion projects, and operational growth investments.
• Maintain and enhance accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance and operational efficiency.
• Identify and implement process improvements to streamline the monthly close, reporting, and reconciliation processes.
• Lead collection efforts across multiple legal entities to maximize cash collections, reduce aging receivables and improve days sales outstanding (DSO).
• Support ongoing business operations and drive cross-functional collaboration to improve efficiency, communication, and execution across departments.
• Perform other duties as assigned at the discretion of management.

Required Experience & Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting required.
• Minimum of 5+ years of experience in corporate accounting
• Proficient technical accounting skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems, NetSuite preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate cross-functionally.
• Exceptional attention to detail, organization, and analytical skills.
• Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
• High level of integrity, professionalism, and accountability.
• Self-starter with the ability to work independently.
