Job summary

L.A. Darling Company LLC, part of the Marmon family, seeks an experienced accountant to drive robust financial controls and reporting. You will oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including AP, AR, payroll, and inventory costing, while ensuring adherence to Marmon Group policies and GAAP.

The ideal candidate holds a bachelor's degree in accounting or finance with 3–7 years in manufacturing environments and proficiency in ERP systems such as Sage X3. A master's degree is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Establish accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.

• Prepare timely financial reporting and reconciliations.
• Ensure compliance with Marmon Group policies and GAAP.

What You'll Do

• Determine, establish and coordinate accounting policies and practices, procedures, and internal controls.
• Develop accounting and management information systems.
• Formulate uniform, consistent and timely financial reporting.
• Establish guidelines and procedures necessary for purchase investigations and the overall coordination and reporting of such investigation. Such guidelines and procedures must agree with Marmon Group policies and guidelines.
• Guide and encourage staff under the Controller's supervision.
• Coordinate plant accounting policies, practices, and internal control procedures consistent with Marmon Group policies and guidelines.
• Responsible for the day-to-day operations of the accounting department, including AP, AR, Payroll, Cash Management, Fixed Assets, Sales and Use tax reporting, Account Reconciliations, Accruals, and Inventory Management.
• Analyze and evaluate financial and operational data for effective management action on a timely basis.
• Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities, including preparation of journal entries, reconciliations, and monthly financial analysis.
• Maintain generally accepted accounting standards and procedures in accordance with Marmon Group policies and guidelines.
• Must have a comprehensive grasp of robust ERP system (Sage X3) and its transaction processes is essential. The candidate should possess the ability to troubleshoot transaction-related issues effectively.
• The position will be responsible for maintaining accurate inventory costing.
• Other responsibilities as assigned.
