Job summary

Marmon Holdings in Chicago seeks a Senior Accountant to support our corporate accounting team. You will assist with the monthly close, reporting to the Assistant Controller, and participate in special projects critical to the organization.

Required CPA and 3-5 years of experience (public accounting preferred). Strong Excel skills, familiarity with Sage X3/OneStream/Alteryx are a plus. Knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SOX is essential.

Qualifications

• CPA required.
• 3-5 years of relevant work experience, some public accounting experience required.
• Some project and personnel management experience preferred.
• Microsoft Office including strong Excel skills, comfortable learning new technology.
• Sage X3, OneStream and/or Alteryx experience a plus.
• Proven knowledge of U.S. GAAP, SOX, and technical accounting research capabilities.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• A “roll up your sleeves” attitude and willingness to do the day-to-day work.
• Highly effective communication skills both written and verbal.
• Passion for collaboration, learning, and process improvements.

Responsibilities

• Assist in leading the monthly corporate financial close process
• Support the monthly close process, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and other tasks
• Serve as a liaison between Marmon’s groups/business units and corporate accounting
• Assist with quarterly financial reporting and supplemental schedules for Berkshire Hathaway, Inc.
• Assist with accounting and financial reporting in accordance with U.S. GAAP
• Review structured financial data provided by subsidiaries to ensure accurate financial reporting
• Ensure compliance with Marmon accounting policies and internal controls; manage the associated policy center
• Assist with the accounts payable and expense reimbursement and 1099 preparation processes
• Ad-hoc reporting, analysis, and technical accounting projects
• Special projects and process automation at the direction of the Assistant Controller

Marmon is now seeking a Senior Accountant with a service-minded work ethic to support our corporate accounting team. Pay Range:

80,000.00 - 120,000.00
