Job summary

Siemens Energy in Orlando, FL seeks an experienced senior accountant focused on automation and digital tools to join our finance team. The role supports team financial reporting and close processes.

You will drive digitalization projects, strengthen controls, and collaborate with external auditors, leveraging SAP, Alteryx, Power BI, and Tableau to improve efficiency and transparency across financial operations.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of accounting experience with reporting and digital/automation initiatives.
  • Strong proficiency in SAP and MS Office; hands-on data analytics/visualization tools.
  • Ability to drive complex projects and automation improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare month-end, quarter-end, and annual financial reporting including Balance Sheet, P&L, notes, and certifications.
  • Drive digitalization projects and implement technology-enabled process improvements.
  • Facilitate workshops on digital tools and document processes for improved efficiency.
  • Enhance financial controls, supporting reconciliations and journal entries; ensure compliance with central accounting requirements.
  • Collaborate with external auditors, preparing SAP-based reporting packages and documentation.
  • Support planning, valuation, and long-range planning analytics including CGU and goodwill assessments.

We are seeking an experienced senior accountant with a strong focus on automation and digital tools to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of accounting principles and practices, combined with a passion for leveraging technology to streamline processes and improve efficiency. This individual supports the team financial reporting and accounting close topics.

How You’ll Make an Impact
  • Reporting and Financial Statement preparation: Assist in the preparation of month-end, quarter-end, and annual financial reporting, including Balance Sheet, P&L, statutory notes, and key certifications.
  • Digital Projects: Drive strategic and cross-functional projects by identifying digitalization opportunities, implementing technology-enabled process improvements, and strengthening team capability in leveraging modern tools.
  • Operational Improvement: Facilitate workshops on digital tools while documenting processes to enhance clarity, consistency, and continuous improvement across financial operations.
  • Financial Controls: Enhance governance and financial controls by improving account reconciliations, supporting journal entry preparation, and contributing to compliance with central accounting requirements (AP, ICC, and other global topics).
  • External Audit Liaison: Collaborate as a key partner with external auditors, preparing SAP-based reporting packages and supporting documentation to ensure smooth and efficient quarterly and annual audit cycles.
  • Planning and Valuation: Support planning, valuation, and investment-related reporting, including long-range plan consolidation and analytics-driven work supporting CGU and goodwill assessments.
What You Bring
  • A university degree or college diploma in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or related field; CPA designation strongly preferred.
  • 5+ years of accounting experience, ideally with exposure to both reporting and digital/automation initiatives (Big 4 or public accounting experience considered an asset).
  • Strong proficiency in SAP and advanced MS Office, with hands-on experience using data analytics or visualization tools such as Alteryx, Power BI, or Tableau.
  • Proven ability to take initiative and independently drive complex projects and process improvements, including leveraging automation to enhance financial workflows and challenge existing practices.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and senior stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
